Setting your apartment up can be a bit of a challenge at times. After the task of moving to your new location, now you have to figure out where to put everything! Be intentional about your new space! Make your new apartment, or reorganize your existing apartment to be both functional & a relaxing place to call home. Take these simple hacks & utilize them in your space!
Use furniture with storage
In the event you find yourself purchasing a new coffee table or bedside tables, think about how useful they will be. Having a coffee table with built-in storage provides both a place to set your drink & a hidden home for your blankets. This hack can also work for your existing furniture. Loaded to the max with winter clothing you won’t be wearing anytime soon in our hot, humid Georgia climate? Simply throw your winter gear in vacuum bags or flat storage totes & slide them under the bed. Now your closet isn’t crammed with parkas & boots!
Keep clutter to a minimum
Such a straight forward hack, but a good one! Unnecessary clutter will leave your space feeling crowded & chaotic. Do you really need to keep all those coffee table books you never read? Probably not, donate them to a friend or charity & clear your space! It is helpful to declutter your home about every 6 months to assess what you’re really spending your time with & what can be tossed!
Clean lines
This one works twofold. Big bulky furniture is not only going to overwhelm your space but it will also be a pain in the behind to move- and may even be difficult to get through doorways & hallways. While you may be drawn to ornate pieces, think more streamlined for your apartment furniture. Now, we’re not advocating for everyone to go out & buy all new furniture here just to be mindful when you do need a new bed frame or couch. This hack is absolutely worth it when living in a smaller space!
